In keeping with current best practice, instead of focusing on Autism alone, we decided to explore neurodiversity as a whole this April. This approach highlights a wide range of conditions students in GCS may struggle with such as ADHD, OCD & other mental health challenges. We hope that this shows that neurodiversity is an umbrella term that recognises the natural variations in human brains & how they function. It also embraces that people interact & experience the world around them in many different ways. This proves there is no “correct” way for the brain to work. It is our job to celebrate such diversity & support their needs as best we can.
