Spanish at Senior Level
The course aims to develop and strengthen skills acquired in the Junior Certificate Programme in accordance with the DES syllabus. There is a great emphasis on both the oral (spoken) and aural (listening) aspects of the language, thus equipping students with skills they will also be able to use outside the academic environment. For Leaving Certificate Spanish, the Oral and Aural elements equate to 45% of the overall exam. In the written paper we focus on themes such as Youth Issues, School, Ecology and Environmental issues, Crime, Multiculturalism, Mass Media, Technology and everyday current news topics that appear in National and International press.
