The Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology Open Days are your opportunity to experience college life, talk to the lecturers, meet the students, explore the lecture rooms, laboratories, and workshops and get a real feel for learning at third level.

Timetable of Learning Experience School Talks

A range of learning experience school talks will run during the day. These talks will provide an introduction to each school, the subjects explored, work placements, international study opportunities and student projects. Please find a schedule for the talks at www.gmit.ie/slo. All talks take place from 9.30am to 2.30pm.

Hear and Dare:

Access programmes are designed to give students who have certain disadvantages (health, Learning difficulties, financial etc) an opportunity to get into college, with possibly less points, and to give them extra support in college.

If you think you may be entitled to any of these you should look at the Hear (financially disadvantaged) or DARE (health / disabilities /learning difficulties) sections of www.cao.ie or contact the school for an appointment with M. Howley or R. Neylan as soon as possible. I believe it is  worth your while applying if you think you have any chance of meeting the criteria.

If a student has a learning disability or a health issue they will have to be assessed by relevant professionals e.g. Psychologist report etc. Contact M. Howley at GCS if you will apply for any of these. I will be happy for parents to come in and meet me.
