Adult Education has been an integral part of Gort Community School since 1995. Many people have participated, enjoyed and gained certification in some courses through their involvement in both the autumn and spring programmes. A gentle introduction to adult learning is the most popular choice formost people. They are driven solely by interest. The number of participants has increased dramatically in recent years. This is due to the range of courses being offered. Many people choose a new subject each year adding gradually to their knowledge and skills. The school is registered as a European
Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) Centre. There are courses for relaxation and leisure e.g. oil painting, woodwork computers for beginners and adobe photoshop at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are language courses, cookery courses, photography and first-aid. There is no age limit on involvement in adult education classes.
